Orville Wright made the first sustained powered flight on December 17, 1903, covering 37 meters in 12 seconds at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.
Penjelasan
The Wright Flyer's first flight traveled just 37 meters, shorter than the wingspan of a modern Boeing 747. On the same day, a fourth flight covered 260 meters in 59 seconds. The brothers' key innovation was three-axis flight control, which remains the basis of all aircraft control systems today.
