关于 José Martí International Airport

Jose Marti International Airport is the main airport serving Havana, the capital of Cuba, and the busiest airport in the country. Located in the municipality of Boyeros, approximately 15 kilometers south of central Havana, the airport was originally built in the 1930s and named after the Cuban national hero and poet Jose Marti. HAV handles over 5 million passengers annually across three terminals. Terminal 3, the newest and largest facility, handles the majority of international flights, while Terminal 2 serves charter flights, primarily from the United States, and Terminal 1 handles domestic services operated by Cubana de Aviacion. International carriers serving the airport include Air Canada, Iberia, Air France, Copa Airlines, and numerous charter operators. The airport's international traffic is heavily influenced by Cuba's unique political situation, particularly the fluctuating travel regulations between Cuba and the United States, which have historically caused significant variations in passenger volumes. Cubana de Aviacion, Cuba's national airline, uses Jose Marti as its primary base for both domestic and limited international services. The airport operates two runways. Ground transportation is primarily by state-operated taxi and bus services. Jose Marti Airport serves as the main gateway for the millions of tourists who visit Cuba each year, drawn by the country's colonial architecture, vibrant culture, music, pristine beaches, and unique historic character as one of the last socialist states in the Western Hemisphere.
