关于 Toronto Pearson International Airport
Toronto Pearson International Airport is the busiest airport in Canada, located in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, approximately 22 kilometers northwest of downtown Toronto. YYZ opened in 1939 as Malton Airport and was renamed in 1984 after Lester B. Pearson, the 14th Prime Minister of Canada and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. The airport handles over 50 million passengers annually across two terminals. Terminal 1, operated primarily by Air Canada and Star Alliance partners, is a modern facility that opened in 2004. Terminal 3 serves WestJet, other Canadian carriers, and additional international airlines. Toronto Pearson is the primary hub for Air Canada and a major base for WestJet, offering extensive domestic, transborder, and international service. The UP Express train provides a dedicated rail link between the airport and Toronto's Union Station in 25 minutes. The airport also connects to the regional transit network via MiWay and GO Transit bus services. Pearson's central geographic position in Southern Ontario makes it a natural gateway for travel across eastern Canada and a major point of entry for international visitors. The airport is also a significant connecting hub for traffic between Europe and destinations across Canada and the northern United States.
