The United States and the Netherlands signed the first Open Skies agreement in 1992, liberalizing international air transport.
Erläuterung
Open Skies agreements remove government restrictions on airline routes, frequencies, and pricing for international flights between the signatory countries. The US-Netherlands deal served as a template for over 130 similar bilateral agreements worldwide. These agreements dramatically increased competition on international routes and lowered fares for consumers.
