different meals
The captain and first officer are required to eat different in-flight meals to minimize the risk of both pilots suffering food poisoning simultaneously.
Erläuterung
While not formally mandated by all aviation authorities, most airlines enforce this as a standard operating procedure. The logic is straightforward: if one meal is contaminated, only one pilot is affected, leaving the other to fly the aircraft safely. Some airlines also require that pilots eat their meals at different times for additional safety margin.
