Aeropuerto más grande por superficie

780

km²

King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia spans 780 square kilometers, larger than the entire country of Bahrain.

Explicación

Most of King Fahd's vast area is undeveloped desert reserved for future expansion. The actual airport facilities occupy a small fraction of the total land. By comparison, Denver International Airport, often cited as the largest US airport, covers about 137 square kilometers. The huge land allocation reflects Saudi Arabia's long-term infrastructure planning in the Eastern Province.
