Entrée en Service de l'Airbus A380

853

maximum passengers

The Airbus A380, the world's largest passenger aircraft with a capacity of up to 853 passengers, entered commercial service in October 2007.

Explication

Singapore Airlines operated the first A380 commercial flight from Singapore to Sydney. The double-deck, four-engine aircraft was designed to relieve congestion at slot-constrained airports by carrying more passengers per flight. However, the trend toward smaller, more fuel- efficient twin-engine aircraft led Airbus to end A380 production in 2021 after delivering 251 units.
