Aéroport Desservant Officiellement des Villes de Deux Pays

country sectors

Geneva Airport has a French sector accessible directly from France, allowing French residents to use the airport without entering Swiss territory.

Explication

A unique customs-free corridor connects the French town of Ferney-Voltaire directly to Geneva Airport's French sector. Passengers departing from the French sector never pass through Swiss passport control. This arrangement dates back to a 1956 Franco-Swiss agreement and reflects the close economic integration of the Geneva metropolitan area that spans both countries.
