19,590
km apart
Madrid Barajas and Auckland are nearly perfectly antipodal, sitting on almost exactly opposite points of the globe about 19,590 km apart.
Explication
Two points are antipodal when they are diametrically opposite on the Earth's surface. Madrid and Auckland come remarkably close to this geometric ideal. A straight line through the center of the Earth from one would emerge very near the other. There is no direct flight between them; passengers must connect through a hub like Doha or Singapore.
