Aéroport à Cheval sur Deux Pays

2

countries

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg straddles the French-Swiss border and is jointly operated by both countries under a unique binational agreement.

Explication

The airport has separate French and Swiss customs sectors, each with its own access road. Passengers arriving on the Swiss side enter Switzerland without passing through French territory. This arrangement has been in place since 1946 and is the only binational airport of its kind in Europe. The airport is physically located entirely in France but serves Basel, Switzerland as its primary city.
