The proportion of female airline pilots has nearly doubled from about 3% in 2010 but remains one of the lowest female participation rates of any profession. India leads among major aviation markets with approximately 12.4% female pilots, well above the global average. Many airlines and aviation organizations now run targeted recruitment and scholarship programs to attract more women into pilot careers.
