1997
year
Star Alliance was founded on May 14, 1997 by five airlines, becoming the world's first global airline alliance with coordinated schedules and shared benefits.
解説
The founding members were United Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Canada, SAS, and Thai Airways. Star Alliance pioneered the concept of interline frequent flyer earning, lounge access, and coordinated schedules across independent airlines. Oneworld (1999) and SkyTeam (2000) followed. Today the three major alliances collectively represent over 60% of global air traffic.
