20-30
minutes to adjust eyes
Airlines dim cabin lights during nighttime takeoff and landing so passengers' eyes are pre-adjusted to darkness in case of an emergency evacuation.
Açıklama
Human eyes take 20-30 minutes to fully adapt to darkness. If an emergency occurred and passengers needed to evacuate at night, eyes already adjusted to dim lighting would navigate darkened cabins and exits much more effectively. Window shades are also raised so cabin crew can assess outside conditions and passengers can orient themselves.
