Consommation Mondiale de Carburant Aviation
350
billion liters annually
The global aviation industry consumes approximately 350 billion liters of jet fuel annually, about 7% of all refined petroleum products.
Explication
Jet fuel (Jet A-1) is a kerosene-type fuel refined from crude oil. Fuel is the largest single operating cost for airlines, typically representing 25-30% of expenses. Modern aircraft use about 3 liters per 100 passenger-kilometers, comparable to a fuel-efficient car. Sustainable aviation fuel currently represents less than 0.2% of total consumption.
