Part de Marché des Compagnies Low-Cost

33

percent of global seats

Low-cost carriers now account for approximately 33% of global airline seats, up from under 10% in 2001.

Explication

The low-cost model pioneered by Southwest Airlines in the 1970s has spread worldwide. Ryanair, easyJet, IndiGo, AirAsia, and Southwest are among the largest. These carriers have been the primary driver of air travel growth in developing markets by offering fares affordable to first-time flyers. In some markets like India and Southeast Asia, low-cost carriers hold over 60% market share.
